I have taught privately for many years, also was head of dept in large secondary school.   At present I’m teaching absolute beginners and diploma level students age 3 to 70 plus.   My lessons are completely student centered, because I teach what the student wants to learn, I never impose my proffered pieces at any level.   I tend to over run times and like to be generous with my time rather than clock watching.   I have two piano, acoustic and electric. I’m very familiar with electronic keyboard as well.

Teaching Info

I teach  a student centered  method. I have experience of many styles and traditions in music from Western classical( Bach, Beethoven etc) as well as modern, pop and jazz.    I play  myself and so does my husband , and I can teach students who struggle to read conventional notation( my husband plays entirely ‘ by ear’)    I enjoy teaching, have always taught privately even when working full time in schools.   I am friendly and not at all strict …. I’m not scary . I can travel, and do travel to a number of students if needed, within the area.  I always give a free, no fee, no obligation and  no commitment lesson so you can meet me a sample my teaching style
