Viola Lessons | Violin Lessons | Alexander Technique Lessons
Bio
Born in Russia, I moved to the Netherlands and started playing the violin there, aged 5. Upon later moving to Germany I attended an after-school music school, various local and regional orchestras and competitions, on top of the regular lessons. I then moved to Scotland and studied at the Music School of Douglas Academy. Upon a successful audition, I started my studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with Lev Atlas on viola and Tamas Fejes on violin. There I was part of the first year of the Alexander Technique module, led by Isobel Anderson. Additionally, I completed the modules of Teaching Musician and Music in Society.
Teaching Info
I tailor my lessons to my student’s requirements and achievement goals. In every case, comfort of playing and a positive attitude to music will be encouraged by extensive use of Alexander Technique and imagery. We will work on building awareness, training the ear, expanding musicality and building a toolkit of techniques and methods to overcome technical and physical challenges. The content of the lesson can range from building up the basics of techniques, improving upon the existing ones, exploring repertoire, preparing for exams or assessments or just having fun expressing yourself. The duration will depend on your needs, but will usually range from 30 to 90 minutes. Most of my teaching methodologies are based on what I have learned during my Bachelor and Master degree through the different relevant modules, masterclasses, personal lessons and exhibitions. I have then further expanded upon it through private teaching, extensive independent study and private lessons with top pedagogues. My lessons are suited for all beginner and intermediate players who display enthusiasm for violin or viola playing.
