Bio
Hi, my name is Elena, I’m a classically trained pianist, accompanist and an experienced piano and music theory teacher.Originally from Lithuania, I started playing piano at the age of 6 and after moving to Scotland in 2005 I joined St Mary’s Music School in Edinburgh. In 2012 I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Classical piano at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and in 2019 my Master’s degree at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, both in London. I have been teaching piano for 7 years and have taught pupils of all ages and levels. I’ve now moved back to Scotland (Glasgow) and have a lot of availability for new pupils.
Teaching Info
I have 7 years of experience in teaching piano and music theory to children of all abilities starting from age 4 as well as adults . I have some experience in group lessons, however I prefer teaching one-to-one as I believe that puipls benefit more from individual lessons that are tailored to their level, ability and interests in music.
I have been playing piano for 22 years and I trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Trinity Laban Conservatoire. I currently hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
Although I am classically trained, I like teaching different styles of music dependant on what kind of music the pupil wants to learn (pop, rock, easy jazz, musical theatre, etc)
