Bio

I am flute teacher with a life-long passion and commitment to Music. I have been a professional musician, a teacher and a performer for over 27 years.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and PG in Music Teaching (Portugal) and I am also a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music (United Kingdom).
Before moving to the UK in 2019, I was a Music teacher in Portugal. I taught in a variety of settings: percussion and drum-kit in Music Conservatoires, Music in nurseries and primary schools, and the flute to private students.
Once settled in Cambridgeshire, I went back to teaching the flute, taking on private local pupils, whilst raising my young family and starting my own greetings card design business.
I pride myself on being a caring, patient, encouraging and enthusiastic teacher with high expectations of her students.

Teaching Info

Lessons normally start with a warm-up, playing long notes on the flute. Next, we move on to flexibility and/or breathing exercises, followed by a few arpeggios and/or scales. Finally, we play our piece(s), either solo, play-along and/or duet. Whilst the foundational work is very much the same for most students, the style of music that you prefer heavily influences the pieces that you’ll learn with me.
