Emily Loftus – Singing Teacher & Music Tutor

Hello! I’m Emily and I’m a Professional Soprano, Singing Teacher and Music Tutor. I hold a Master’s degree from the Royal College of Music and teach all levels!

I’ve been teaching and tutoring for over 8 years, with experience from beginner learners all the way through to university level. I have a thriving Singing Studio as well as being in demand as a Music GCSE and A Level Tutor. On top of this, I specialise in interview and audition preparation, for elite schools and university degrees.

As an Opera Singer I have worked for leading companies such as Welsh National Opera, Opera North, English National Opera and the Glyndebourne Festival.

Whether you’re at the start of your journey as a musician or already working professionally, I’m here to help you grow in confidence in your performance skills, singing technique and musical theory understanding!

Teaching style: I believe in teaching in an active and diverse way. I believe any child or adult has musical potential, they simply need the right support and nurturing.

As a Singing Teacher; I have had success with taking students through both the ABRSM and Trinity Laban exam syllabuses, as well as supporting those who wish to enter talent competitions (local or national) or pursue music professionally. I pride myself on not only being a singing teacher, but also a performance coach – helping each student truly find their authentic voice.

As a GCSE and A Level Tutor, I work for UKSC as well as privately to support students towards the strongest grade they can get. I specialise in one-to-one tailored learning, assessing how best I can support each student on an individual basis. I also have experience in working with neurodivergent students, helping them to unlock their potential beyond a restrictive classroom setting. All my GCSE and A Level students have achieved a B Grade or above – providing a track record of success for any future students.

On top of this, I have supported many students with the process of applying for Conservatoire, Oxbridge or specialist music degrees – I have a huge passion for supporting students on this journey. My skills include application support, interview technique, audition preparation and individual coaching support.

I am Enhance DBS certified and hold degrees from the Royal College of Music and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
