Bio
I am a classically trained violinist and violist. I am a qualified teacher, with a Bachelor of Music degree (Hons) with distinction, from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and a Diploma of Music Teaching and Performance from the Royal Irish Academy of Music. I have been teaching students of all ages and levels since 2021, both over zoom and in person.
As a performer, I have plenty of experience performing both as a soloist and in ensembles. As a soloist, I was awarded first place in the Guildhall School Max and Peggy Prize, and the Irish Heritage Homan Potterton Bursary, where I performed at Wigmore Hall.
As an orchestral musician, I have worked with the BBC Philharmonic, National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, and Irish National Opera Orchestra. I play in an award-winning string quartet, the Sonas Quartet, who perform in the UK and in Europe. I have performed in venues such as the Barbican Centre, Bridgewater Hall, the Royal Over Seas League, and most recently, at the ‘Rising Star’ recital at the West Wicklow Chamber Music Festival in May 2026.
I am a keen improvisor and conductor, and am passionate about sharing music with others. I have been involved with music workshops with the Irish Baroque Orchestra in 2025 and 2026 and as part of the 2024 Kilkenny Arts Festival.
Teaching Info
I love teaching people of all ages and levels, from beginner level all the way up! I am calm, patient and believe in working with each student to find the best method for them to learn. I employ tactics from Vamoosh, Suzuki and the Eta Cohen Methodology for beginners, and use resources such as ABRSM grade pieces as the student progresses.
I bring my instrument to every lesson, and love playing with my students. I am happy to recommend ensembles for students to join, and to work with them to apply for any goal they have. I have an enhanced DBS check and have had safeguarding training.
Lesson length varies from student to student, but starts at half an hour and can go up to an hour/hour and a half. Please get in touch with any questions, I look forward to meeting you!
