Bio

Gary Saunders, residing in Sutton Coldfield, has been playing the guitar for over 50 years.

I have also obtained guitar exam certifications in the last few years up to and including RGT Grade 6 exam level (Register of Guitar Tutors), and I am DBS registered.

I have now retired from my managerial role in the telecoms industry and will enjoy the challenge of teaching my favourite hobby and pastime, the guitar, to people.

With patience and by imparting my musical knowledge and experience, my aim is to help people play and improve their guitar playing and, most importantly, enjoy playing this wonderful instrument.

Teaching Info

My aim is to teach and progress people to learn to play the guitar, both strumming and finger picking, and to understand the basics of the guitar fretboard and music notes.

Before commencing guitar teaching, I will ascertain the existing standard of the student and what they want to achieve.

Teaching can include:

• Features of the guitar
• Basic guitar chords: G, C, D, E, A, F, Em and Am
• Strumming and finger picking techniques
• Songs using chords, for example “Just My Imagination” using G and C
• Basic music notes and tablature
• Progression through the above areas depending on the student and their objectives
• Teaching towards RGT examination grades where applicable

My individual lesson charge is £25.00 per hour.
