Bio

I’m a singer-songwriter and producer with credits including labels like Sony/ATV, placements on shows like “Married at First Sight,” major City of London public art installations, and a few songwriting awards to my name. I also hold a Bachelor of Music in Popular Music Performance (singer-songwriter emphasis) from the University of Southern California and a Masters in Composition in Electronic Music from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

I have 10 years of teaching experience from ages 7 and up in group and individual settings. Nowadays, I’m a music production, songwriting, and voice lecturer at the Academy of Contemporary Music in London.

Teaching Info

Hey, I’m Gwen! I’m a singer-songwriter/producer with 10 years of teaching experience.

I teach virtual lessons to beginner-advanced students ages 10+ in the following areas:

  • popular voice
  • songwriting
  • music production (Logic Pro X, Pro Tools)
  • mixing/mastering
  • music theory
  • arranging
  • composition/film scoring

My lessons are all about sparking that fire of curiosity so you feel empowered to develop your own sound. Together, we’ll pull back the curtain on musical concepts, so you really dig into the power behind the techniques. With the right insights, you’ll be confident to break “rules” and make some waves.

With over a decade of teaching singers, songwriters and producers under my belt, I’ve learned the art of listening. In each lesson, we’ll tune into your passion and customize your path to help you thrive.

For my singer-songwriters, this might mean a combination of songwriting and production. For my production students, we’ll zero in on DAW skills, mixing, and mastering. For my vocal students, we might go all in on singing. My composition lessons usually touch on composition, arranging, and theory. Some students want a bit of everything!

The important thing is that music lessons are for you. I’ll give you some pointers about possible next steps based on your goals, but our lessons should feel productive, fun, and empowering.

So whether you wanna cut your first record, work on your range, produce chart-worthy tracks, or write for an orchestra… you bring the vision, and we’ll chart the path.

We might be a good fit if:

  • You’re just getting started and want a supportive, non-judgmental environment to try out some new skills.
  • You’ve got a bit more experience under your belt, have some specific goals you’d like to work towards, and need some guidance to get there.
  • You’ve got a strong foundation, but you feel stuck artistically and are looking for some new input to further your artistic practice.

I’m also happy to help you prepare for any graded exams or university auditions.

Reach out to book a trial session or ask any questions. Let’s start making some moves!

Why online?

Using dedicated music teaching platforms, I’ve found online teaching offers all the personalised attention of an in-person lesson, but with added flexibility. We can work around your schedule, and you can take lessons from the comfort of your own home. In fact, with things like screen sharing, whiteboards, filesharing/storage, and shared notetaking, virtual lessons can offer an extra level of convenience. Plus, virtual lessons also allow me to meet dedicated students everywhere! Give it a risk-free try to see if virtual lessons work for you.

Gwen is the best, she makes such a nice environment where you don’t feel afraid to get things wrong.
