Bio

Shwmae! I am a freelance violinist, born and raised in Cardiff. I recently graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (2025) and have loved every second of my teaching so far, doing so alongside performing in wedding quartets/trios and orchestral projects across the UK.

Teaching Info

I aim to adapt my teaching methods to suit each student. Everyone learns differently and it’s my responsibility to reflect that with engaging, positive and productive lessons.

Any age and ability is welcome! I recommend that younger learners should start with 30 minute lessons. Hour long lessons would be best suited for adults and older teens.

I am starting a PGCert in Practical Teaching with the European String Teachers Association in August 2026 – a qualification that I can study alongside my freelance work. I cannot wait to learn from leading experts and immediately apply it in my violin lessons!
