Bio

I am a professional oboist and music educator with a Master of Music degree from the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in Manchester.

I teach oboe, recorder and ABRSM music theory to children, teenagers and adults. My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs, whether they are learning for enjoyment, preparing for ABRSM examinations or developing their confidence and musicianship.

I believe lessons should be enjoyable, supportive and encouraging. I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making progress at their own pace and developing a lifelong love of music.

Alongside my private teaching, I also work with young musicians through Warrington Youth Orchestra, giving me experience teaching both individual students and groups.

Lessons can include technique, tone production, scales, sight-reading, aural skills, repertoire and performance preparation, depending on each student’s goals.

Whether you’re taking your first lesson, preparing for an ABRSM exam, or returning to music after a break, I’d be delighted to help you achieve your musical goals.

Every lesson is tailored to the student’s age, experience and goals. Lessons are supportive, engaging and enjoyable, helping students build confidence while developing strong musical foundations. We focus on good technique, tone production, rhythm, sight-reading, scales, musicianship and repertoire. I also prepare students for ABRSM examinations where appropriate. Whether you are learning for fun or working towards exams, lessons are designed to help you progress at your own pace in a positive and encouraging environment.
