I have over 15 years experience playing Piano accordion in diverse genres including Celtic & European Traditional Folk, Balkan/ Klezmer/ Oriental, Tango, Latin-American, Cumbia, Brazilian Fórro, French Musette, Nordic, Swing & more.
As a musician I’ve lived, toured and studied in countries including across Latin America and Europe including Bulgaria, Chile, Greece & Colombia, which has given me a wide musical repertoire, collection and musical perspective that I’m keen to share with students!
I’ve worked with children and also seniors who have begun their music education later in life from little to no experience. Having played in diverse bands I can put the accordion in context and build confidence playing with other musicians, teaching techniques and music theory that can be transferred to other instruments.
I’m a friendly and supportive teacher who plans detailed individual lessons tailored to each student’s experience and musical interests. I can offer grade-structured courses but I also offer more than the set pieces often found in standardized tuition books which can be uninspiring.
