Bio
I am a reliable, friendly and understanding teacher. My number one priority during lessons is to enjoy music making! I am a classically trained violinist and qualified teacher, with a bachelor degree with distinction from MUK Vienna, Austria. I have been teaching students of all ages and levels since 2020 both over Zoom and in person. As a soloist I have performed in Carnegie Hall New York, Wigmore Hall and the NCH Dublin among others. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch, I look forward to meeting you! I can arrange lessons on a weekly or monthly basis in person or on zoom. I also offer a merge of Zoom and in person lessons.
Born in Dublin, Julieanne Forrest is a London based violinist, pursuing her masters degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with professor David Takeno. She is also a 2025–2026 Artist of the Schubert Promotion at the Académie Musicale Philippe Jaroussky in Paris.
Julieanne most recently completed her BA in Violin Performance with First Class Honours at the Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien, studying with Professor Pavel Vernikov. Prior to this, she studied with Professor Fionnuala Hunt at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and Kara Janu. Her artistic development has also been shaped profoundly through masterclasses with leading international musicians including Mauricio Fuks, Maxim Vengerov, Svetlana Makarova, Kolja Blacher, Grigory Kalinovsky and Olivier Charlier among many others.
As a soloist, Julieanne has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, the French Republican Guard Orchestra, the RIAM Symphony Orchestra, Wexford Sinfonia, the City of Dublin Chamber Orchestra and the New York Sinfonietta appearing at notable venues including the National Concert Hall Dublin, Carnegie Hall New York, Guarnerius Hall Belgrade, Musikverein Vienna, Wigmore Hall, La Seine Musicale Paris and the National Opera House of Ireland. In 2024 Julieanne had the honor of performing Bill Whelan’s Inishlacken Concerto at the NCH with Athena Tergis, the RTÉ NSO and conductor Gavin Moloney. She has also worked extensively with renowned Irish conductor Fergus Sheil and Joseph Alessi.
An active chamber musician, she has appeared internationally as a member of the Reperti Trio. The ensemble most recently performed a series of concerts in Monterrey and Durango, Mexico as well as Musikverein Metallenersaal, Mozarteum Salzburg and in Brno Czech Republic.
Julieanne is a multiple award recipient, including the Trench Award First Prize, Aileen Gore cup and RTÉ Lyric FM Award, the Frank Maher Classical Music Award First Prize (2020), the National Concert Hall of Ireland Young Musician for Strings Award (2019–2021). She was leader of the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland at the age of 16.
Her performances have been broadcast on Irish national radio and media, including RTE Nationwide, RTÉ Lyric FM and IMAGE Magazine features.

Violin lessons:
– One to one lessons with a focus on technique and musicality on the violin through the structure of grade examinations
– Lesson structure can vary based off student preferences and age eg lots of singing and play involved with beginners as well as general music pedagogy.
– I always try to bring my violin to lessons and love to play alongside students and encourage performances.
– Provide recommendations to ensembles, orchestras and music groups for students to get involved with
