Bio

Laura Blanchard is a British violinist and violin teacher whose work combines performance, pedagogy, and artistic development at a professional level.

Her playing has been profoundly shaped by over ten years of study with the distinguished French virtuoso professor Fabienne Fauritte. Under her mentorship, Laura developed a refined technical foundation alongside a deep and expressive approach to musical phrasing, tone, and interpretation.

During her training at the Fabienne Fauritte Violin School, Laura was encouraged to begin teaching—an experience that became a defining part of her musical identity. Since then, she has devoted herself to education with a focus on helping each student unlock their full artistic and technical potential.

Alongside her teaching practice, Laura has performed in concerts and orchestral settings across Bedfordshire and beyond, and has successfully prepared students for examinations and competitions in London. Her experience includes leading group classes, working within specialist music schools, and teaching in both state and independent education settings across the UK.

She provides both in-person and online lessons, allowing her teaching to be accessible to students locally, nationally, and internationally.

Teaching Info

I take a flexible, student-focused approach to violin teaching, tailoring each lesson to the individual needs, goals, and learning style of the student. My aim is to build strong technical foundations while also developing musicality, confidence, and enjoyment of playing.

Lessons are structured but adaptable, combining technical work such as posture, tone production, and intonation with engaging repertoire suited to the student’s level and interests. I support students working towards ABRSM and Trinity exams, as well as those learning for personal enjoyment or performance development.

I believe progress is best achieved through a positive and encouraging environment, where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring their musical potential. Whether working with beginners, adult learners, or advanced students, I focus on building confidence, consistency, and a genuine connection to the instrument.
