Lewis Sallows is a saxophonist, improviser and composer, hailing from Hertfordshire and currently based in London. After leaving Freman College, he began to pursue his musical career by enrolling in the jazz performance course at The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, from which he graduated with first class honors degree. Following 4 active years in Birmingham, hosting live music nights and performing with his own bands across the country, Lewis moved to London to study on the prestigious Master’s degree program at The Royal Academy of Music in London, where he now studies with British jazz legends such as Stan Sulzmann and Nikki Illes.

He is a very active composer, having recently written a suite of music for chamber orchestra and saxophone, inspired by the landscape artwork of Lawrence Coulson. This suite premiered alongside projections of Lawrence’s artwork in March 2019 at Centrala, in Birmingham. He writes for his own groups which perform in London and has had work performed at Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Trondheim Jazz Festival in Norway and Elb Jazz Festival in Hamburg.
