Bio
I’m Nikki, a musician based in Manchester who specialises in Music education. I graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2011 with a MA Hons. in Music (2:1). I have both Grade 8 Piano (ABRSM) and Grade 8 Vocals (RSL). I teach students from my premises in Bolton town centre (Mon, Tue, Wed), my home in Salford (Sun), at home visits in Urmston (Trafford) on Thursday nights. I also offer online lessons.
I have tutored the OCR GCSE Music course in partnership with an exam company twice. my student’s achieved an 8 in 2023, and a 7 in 2024. I have worked in secondary schools delivering instrumental tuition in a range of instruments (Piano/Vocals/Guitar/Bass & Drums) and as a teaching assistant helping with the Music GCSE.

Considering taking music lessons for yourself or your child? You’ve come to the right place, with a range of subjects available; Piano, Vocals, Bass Guitar, Music Theory and of course Music GCSE and 16+ Music Courses Support. I have a large knowledge of exam paths and various tutor books so I can advise you how best to progress.
Lessons are tailor-made to suit your interests and goals. In each lesson you will be set clear goals for practise and improving your musicianship.
Each year I enter students into both Trinity and ABRSM Exams, students achieve excellent results and progress well. Which exam board you study is up to you and I can advise which will suit you best. I have taught all the way to Grade 8 and everyone who has sat Grade 8 with me has passed it. Equally you don’t have to study exams, these are your lessons to study what interests you.
If as a parent or student you’re totally new to music education, I can explain how the Grades work, UCAS points for grade 6-8 etc.
I have an early year’s deal for children under 7/8 years old so they can access shorter lessons which are age appropriate.
I also teach a large number of adults and retired adults and design my approach around what you’d like to do.
Since 2022, I have been teaching GCSE Music privately, in August 2023 my student achieved a 8 on their GCSE Music. if you want to do your music GCSE outside of school I can facilitate this. If you are doing your GCSE in school I’m happy to help with all aspects of NEA (Performance and Composition), and the listening exam.
I have a wealth of experience with additional support needs, (ASD, VI, ADHD) there are no barriers to learning with me and everyone is welcome. I can speak basic French and teach using solfège (Do-Si).
