I’m a degree-educated professional bassist with over 30 years of experience teaching and performing. I work with students of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced players looking to refine their skills. I’m also not a guitarist masquerading as a bassist! Bass is my instrument, although, I can masquerade as a guitarist if needs be!

My lessons are tailored to your goals and cover:

Solid technique (fingerstyle, slap, timing, tone)
Music theory made practical and easy to apply
Playing by ear, improvisation, and performance skills

I focus on making lessons clear, structured, and enjoyable, helping you build confidence while developing real musical ability.

Teaching style is tailored to what the student requires. Material can be brought to work on or provided.

I dislike online teaching as I prefer to be in the room with a student. This allows for greater information sharing and technique corrections.
