Bio

Following graduation from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, I studied with Jean Pierre Rampal in Paris and also Peter Katin ( Piano) in London and Francis Howard ( violin) in Cardiff. I have performed with top orchestras across Europe.

I am also a Music Psychologist, have worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital ( GOSH) & was awarded Graduate Membership and basis of chartered registration as a Psychologist in 1997. My specialist area is performance anxiety/ stage fright.

In addition I have also taught music in several top UK public schools including Harrow, Sherborne School, Bedford and Broomfield House School and worked as a consultant for several examination boards and also for OfSTED.

I have over 35+ years of teaching experience. Currently I teach globally online with current active studios in China and Japan but I only accept a small number of new students per year.

Teaching Info

Lessons are individually tailored to the student. Different teaching methods and materials are utilised and matched to the student and I provide FB in between weekly lessons. I have a 100% pass rate over 35 years of experience and most students gain distinctions. Aural theory and composition elements are incorporated into lessons and not usually taught separately as stand alone sessions.

I incorporate modern scientifically proven psychological strategies to help students with performance anxiety and stage fright into lessons.

Please note that although I still occasionally accept students aged 12 and over in Asia I have recently decided to stop teaching children in the UK.
