Bio
I am a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and North London Conservatoire. My methodology is loosely based on the Kodály-method of musical training, in which the general musicality and inner ear of the student is cultivated as a priority right from the first lesson. I combine this with the rigour and high standard of teaching I was fortunate enough to get in order to produce pupils who are technically proficient but crucially who play out of enjoyment for their instrument and a love for music.

Welcome to my teaching studio!
In its 6th year, I have taught over 70 pupils, all of different interests, standards and ages.
In my studio, you may learn violin, piano, theory and musicianship. I greatly value nurturing musicality and playfulness, natural attributes all people have whether they are aware of it or not.
After all, the nature of music lies in its ability to abstractify life, to represent life, to escape the day-to-day, to laugh, to cry and to connect to others in this world.
This also involves regular singing as the voice is our first instrument, and very useful to develop, not just for your musical endeavours but for your personal wellbeing. I teach theory from a range of sources that I compile as part of my material, and can tailor lessons to whatever pupils wish for. We normally work through what will be covered in grades 1-8 in case of wanting to take graded exams, looking at all the different tasks they require.
Many of my pupils give regular concerts that I put on, whether online or in-person. I also enter pupils for ABRSM grade exams when they and I feel the time is right to work towards a certificate, many achieving Distinctions and Merits.
I offer my first 45 minute consultation in any discipline as half price so we can discuss what we would like to proceed with and get to know each other a bit.
