Bio

I began teaching one-to-one private singing lessons from my home in 2019. I have been teaching on and off throughout my studies in London. I have taught a wide variety of students through all voice types, from ages 12–60. I teach across genres, though classical is my specialism. I’ve taught mainly classical, musical theatre, pop, jazz, rock, indie and folk.

My interest in pedagogy stemmed from my experience of different teaching styles through my musical journey. I became interested especially in anatomy and physiology as a basis for teaching to ensure safe, healthy and efficient technique in students to allow them to begin to explore their own musicality and story-telling without vocal pressures and issues.

I have attended workshops and courses with renowned vocal coaches such as Ron Morris, Dinah Harris, Gillyanne Kayes and Jeremy Fisher. My anatomy modules were given by Veronica Veysey Campbell. I have participated in and observed masterclasses with singers such as Dame Sarah Connolly, Sarah Tynan, Sumi Jo and Angela Gheorghiu.

As a teacher, I focus on building good techniques and habits through vocal exercises and anatomical understanding. I approach repertoire from a story-telling perspective and aim to bring out an honest and interesting interpretation from my students every time. I work compassionately and patiently to allow each student to blossom in their own time.

Teaching Info

I teach all styles of singing, building solid foundations of good technique, and working on performance ability and musicality. My lessons are taught at my home in Wigan, at Booths music shop in Bolton, at a studio in Bury and I also travel to my student’s homes to teach.
